This life size sculpture of Prometheus is one of five cast sculptures that MGA created for Discovery Park in Union City, Tennessee. Prometheus is depicted having his liver eaten out by Zeus’ eagle as punishment for stealing fire and giving it to man, thereby enlightening mankind, per the Greek myth. This sculpture honors the Prometheus Society, an elite group of intellectuals inspired by Prometheus gift of fire and subsequent plight.
