This bronze panther was a public art commission created for a new athletic facility at O'Fallon High School in Illinois. The original pattern was created on a casting of the rock formation to create a natural setting.

How it’s made
A metal frame is created to support the expanded urethane foam
The first foam block is mounted to the metal frame
The figure begins to take form as more foam is added and carved to shape
