wanted a sculpture of significant stature that would serve as an icon for their new properties in Tampa, Florida. The complex is located by the city’s iconic Riverwalk, so Mark was inspired by the local landscape to design a monument that speaks to the culture and identity of the area.

The result: Charley, a nearly thirty-foot sculpture that pays homage to yacht builder Charley Morgan who has designed over 10,000 sailing vessels. Its exact design draws upon the Heritage, Morgan’s 1970 entry in the Americas Cup. Many of his other vessels can be found sailing and docked in the Hillsborough River.
